franciscoramon: (:? in another world)

Different's good.

[ Cisco wants to tell Eddie how he's feeling, how deeply touched he is by the gift, but it's hard to find the right words. He doesn't have enough practice yet with this sort of intensely heartfelt gesture. It calls for an answer that is nothing but absolute, unflinching honesty, and that is sometimes a challenge for Cisco. But he keeps touching the machine, tweaking little bits of it, running his thumb along the needle carefully, before he says: ]

Different makes me feel like you... [ A pause, to swallow, to find the best end to that sentence. ] ...like you actually see me.

[ It isn't that his love of movies and all things nerdy are phony; Cisco does love things, deeply, and they've gone into shaping who he is as a person. It's just that there is more to him than that. Sometimes he wishes there weren't, because the 'more' is messy and complicated and not always very appealing, but it's there. The fact that Eddie had taken a risk, hadn't just settled on something easy, means the world.

Cisco registers what Eddie had said about making something other than a super suit. He's done little repairs to clothes before, but nothing fancy. And the super suit had been close enough to engineering to feel safe. But... he could use this to make clothes. It would probably be loud and clumsy at first but he could make something. For himself. For Eddie. ]

If I... [ There's a hint of shyness in Cisco's voice now, even as his hands drop to his sides and he takes a step closer to Eddie. ] ...if I make your something and it's not too hideous, would you wear it?
