[Eddie doesn't know that Cisco explained Iris to Taako, doesn't really understand the full scope of all the things he and Taako hadn't shared with each other - he only knows that the first time they'd had a serious conversation, the whole thing had been over. That's something that doesn't at all escape his notice, and in a way, it makes him feel defective, like he's gonna be alone forever, like his expectations are too high.

But Cisco is saying it's not selfish and he deserves to be a priority. Eddie shakes his head a little sadly, licking his lips, looking straight ahead, and takes a shaky breath.]

I dunno. I think, in a place where everyone wants to go home, it's probably a stupid idea. I can't go home. I mean, I can't go home and be alive so I've got to stay here. I don't think anyone else wants to stay here. And if they don't already want to stay here, I think it's probably selfish to expect anyone to choose to stay here with me.

[Shrugging again, he keeps his eyes on the tv, the paused movie still on the screen. After a moment, he picks up the remote and turns the tv off.]

And it's definitely stupid. I'm not worth that.
