What is a neutrino? Is it something that can go through matter? It's matter, right?
No no, it's okay. You make me laugh all the time, it's my turn. Let me know if I manage it.
A photon checks into a hotel and is asked if he needs any help with his luggage. He says, "No, I'm traveling light."

Wait, there are things smaller than atoms?
Subatomic. I guess that's what that means, huh? This is why you're the genius.
Either way, they sound so cool.
Okay. Okay. If they're making you laugh...
An optimist see sa glass half full. A pessimist sees it half empty. An engineer sees it twice as large as it needs to be.

[Honestly, Eddie probably wouldn't have understood any of that if Cisco hadn't said it in such an accessible way. But even if he hadn't been able to, he'd still think it's somehow both adorable and impressive all at once.]
Wow. That sounds a little bit like what they do to make an atom bomb though. Or am I wrong?
You are.
The biggest nerd.
I love it. ;)
I love you.
Yeah, I'm going to bring it back, but I'm not gonna let you read it. It's my belated present to myself to be able to make you laugh whenever I want.

Wow. That is the first time I've ever actually understood nuclear weapons, and I didn't even know what the particle accelerator did exactly, until you explained it. So don't worry about going too nerd on me. You're perfect. <3
And I didn't even know you needed a lot of atoms to make an atom bomb.
[That analogy - he can't help but think of him and Iris, and he pushes that thought aside.]
Oh, my birthday.

Oh, my birthday.
[This is a good chunk of why he hasn't mentioned it, because frankly? His birthday is a little embarrassing.]
Oh. 25 days belated.
[Yeah, it's July 4th.]

[Honestly, Eddie doesn't care, particularly, about his birthday. July 4th has always been about Independence Day and his birthday has always come a distant second. He hadn't even noticed it when it happened.]
Hey, hey babe, come on.
There's no need to say that, even if you're not being serious.
I didn't tell you, and you had no way of knowing.
Honestly, so much was going on at the time I completely forgot until about a week ago.
Also, I don't know your birthday either. And you're the best boyfriend in the history of the world.

Yes July 4th. As I'm sure you can see, I am pretty used to not bothering to celebrate.
And at the time we were just. Busy. It wasn't a good time for me to even mention it, and like I said, I forgot.
There is no need to say that. You are seriously the best boyfriend I could ask for.
October 3rd.
I'll remember it. I need to spoil you.

This is what I mean when I say you're the best boyfriend ever. The fact that you care about me more than all of America. Or just that you care about my birthday in general. I haven't really celebrated it since I was 21, and before that it was when I was a kid.
You don't have to spoil me. Though, I mean, if you're offering, I might ask you to cook me something...

[ When Cisco reaches in to take his glasses away, his only response is to briefly brush against his legs with a muffled hum. The intensity starts to leave him almost as quickly as it seems to have come as the calm settles over him. He even manages to ignore Cisco's laughter, too dazed and focused on that damnable paper towel roll and its inability to stay in one place.
It's about ten or fifteen minutes before some of Harrison's faculties seem to clear up. There's still a sort of fuzziness in his head as well as a few cravings (he'd been to college, he knows how it goes), but his eyes start to focus more. He lifts a hand up to his hair, picking out a few pieces of the herb before swiping a hand over his face once or twice. He'd have to shower to get out some of the smaller pieces, but for now, this was fine.
What he really wants to do is yell at Cisco for a stunt like that — go to town on him. But he doesn't have the energy for that and, more importantly, he doesn't have the heart. It wasn't that long ago that the thought of even the most casual of contact with Ramon made him flinch; now, Reverb was a distant memory, replaced by burgers and catnip betrayal.
Harrison pushes himself up, briefly avoiding eye contact as he shakes his head, brushing more of the herb out of it. The avoidance doesn't last more than a few seconds though as he sits down right nearby on the couch, arms crossed, looking thoroughly unimpressed. He clears his throat but doesn't speak just yet, out of concern that the cat may, quite literally, still have his tongue. ]

[It's not just 'wants to celebrate his birthday with him' - it's a lot more than that. It's everything Cisco does for him and how much he cares about doing it.]
Okay, okay, fine.
Hm. That's a tough question. This might sound weird, but maybe something from your culture? Something I've never tried.
I don't know. Who would we even invite? I guess Caitlin and Arya, maybe Caroline...
I don't know if anyone else would want to come.

Yeah? That's awesome. :) I'm really excited to try it.
Are you gonna surprise me?
I...don't know. Maybe a little gathering, with a few people and some drinks? Whoever you think might like to come. I don't really feel like being the center of a lot of attention and I don't need presents or anything seriously, but some dinner might be nice. Maybe I could fire up the barbecue or something, and we could have some beers?

[ That damnable smile is probably the only thing keeping Cisco from getting an earful right about now. Part of Harrison is seething internally, while another part is almost placated by that. He can still remember how hesitant he was, how he'd looked after Harrison had flinched away from his touch. It was like night and day now.
So instead of immediately laying into him, Harrison reaches over from his end of the couch with his foot and nudges Cisco's leg with it — enough to be annoying, but not so much that he'd jostle him while he was working on the pants. ]
For science, huh.
[ It's said about as dry as it gets with him, and Harrison eyes Cisco flatly at that. ]
Not a word to anyone else about this.
[ Though— he hates to admit it, but it was useful to know. He'd figured his physiology was also altered to some degree, though he hadn't exactly tested for that yet. If it were anyone else, he'd have run them through the gamut of tests by now. As the subject in question, it's difficult for him to be a neutral observer. It wasn't Cisco's intention — at least, it probably wasn't, knowing him — but it had been somewhat useful in the end.
Not to his pride, but still.
Harrison shifts his positioning, moving closer so he can keep an eye on Cisco as he works. ]

I'd like that. I think I'd like anything you cooked me.
You spoil me, you know that?
Seriously. Best boyfriend.
And you know I never mind being the center of your attention. ;)
Alright. If we're actually doing this, then just let me know. I'll make those burgers you like, and some steak.
[And he feels a little self-conscious and silly about it but...he's excited about this.]
