trying to build a sensor capable of detecting what frequency different particles are vibrating at. that way we should be able to tell what universe different people and objects are from, and maybe see if everything in this place is from here or whether it all gets brought here like the people. i'm guessing it's probably the latter because that makes more sense than whatever controls this place just creating matter out of energy every time someone wants a milkshake or something.
this is attempt number seventeen, by the way. trying to up the sensitivity and keep it from going haywire any time i try to get a reading off one of the clocks. no success yet.
I didn't know things from different universes vibrated differently, or at least I don't think I did. So do you mean you've tried to make a sensor 17 times or just that it can't read off the clocks themselves? Because the clocks are kind of weird and different.
Okay matter from energy, that's like the replicators in Star Trek right? Wouldn't this place have to? Or change things a little. At least the rooms. I doubt it only pulls rooms that have a stupid amount of clocks. Unless you mean literally just the things inside the rooms.
[A few seconds later, like an afterthought.]
Too bad you're in Harry's workshop. I thought about bringing lunch and hanging out.
this is the 17th version. i got it working in a rudimentary way after 3 tries but it was pretty imprecise until the 10th. it's been working for everything but the clocks since 14 but i'm getting closer i think. they've got some kind of field around them that distorts the readings but if i can just build in a component to disrupt that i think we'll be cooking with gas.
i think the rooms are stable but it pulls in objects the same way it does people. figuring out how it interprets brain waves and uses that to rearrange the doors is a whole other project. i'm kinda stuck on that one. used to having caitlin around for the bio stuff.
i can take a break.
[ After a moment of thought, another text ]
actually i probably should take a break i kinda didn't realize it was daytime again.
[ He's not as bad as Harry, but Cisco does occasionally get his head so far in a project that he forgets to sleep, and eat meals, quite as regularly as he should. ]
[He gets most of it, because Cisco is a genius, but he's very good at making things accessible. But that doesn't mean he has much to contribute, unfortunately, so he still feels a little dumb.]
You're such a genius. :)
But you definitely need to take a break. Maybe I'll start sending you selfies with dumb faces around mealtimes. Maybe bedtime. Remind you to eat and sleep.
[He definitely types something ridiculously sappy that involves calling him 'my cute little genius' and then deletes it. Maybe he's feeling lonelier than he realized.]
[ Cisco's instinct is to think that Eddie is kidding, or that maybe he would be willing to do it for a day or two, but would get bored pretty quickly. He's a grown-ass man and he ought to be able to remember to eat and sleep on his own, without roping Eddie into helping him like he's incapable. ]
and i'm totes not just asking because it'll mean a steady supply cute selfies. OR AM I???
[ The comment about Harry surprises Cisco, though a moment later he thinks it shouldn't. ]
he's here, how about i meet you at your place in 15? not because harry doesn't like you but because i've been in here since yesterday and i definitely need a change of scene. and like, a shower.
but you shouldn't worry about coming by even if harry's here. he likes you, okay, trust me. he's just. harry.
[It seems pretty simple, just messaging Cisco when he makes food or goes to bed. Like something he could easily work into his routine. It's the kind of thing he likes doing for someone he cares about, to show how much he cares.]
If you're good, I might even invite you over to eat more often. ;)
And okay. Do you want to shower here? You can if you want. I was thinking of grabbing some junk food - Indian maybe? For some reason Creepsville seems to like giving me takeout.
[And a moment later.]
You're sure? About Harry? I just don't want another situation like with Arya.
