Last year was a disaster. I'm concerned about planning anything for him...because of that.

Still, having people he values there to celebrate is important, I think.

No surprises, definitely. I should probably just ask him. I was trying to not ask him to make all the calls, but I know it's sensitive.

I don't know all of the details. Two people from home really hurt him. People who had been really important to him when we were at home. And...it resulted him not speaking to them for quite some time.

They're gone now. But I don't think that the last time they talked was with them being on very good terms.

Oh. No. I was there for his birthday. But what happened to upset him wasn't while we were eating. But - it was more learning about other versions of ourselves that they knew.

There's a lot more to it than that, I am sure.
