[ The pounding on the door was enough to startle Cisco, who had been working away on his gauntlets, feeling quite contented. The shouting that followed after made things exponentially worse. Despite the rage in it, there was no mistaking Angela's voice, and it didn't take much to put two and two together.
There was some temptation to not answer the door, to pretend he wasn't here, or make a hasty retreat. But then, what would be the point of that? Angela knows where he works, and this place isn't big enough to avoid someone for very long. So, heart pounding hard, shaking faintly but keeping his head held high, Cisco fired off a quick text to Eddie (just in case) and then threw open the door. ]
[ As soon as the door is opened, Angela crowds into Cisco's space, pushing him back until his back hits a desk or a wall, honestly Angela is so furious she isn't paying attention to anything but Cisco right in front of her. ]
No thanks to your insolence. You set me up on a date!! Without asking me beforehand whether I would be amenable to such a thing!
[ Cisco backs away from Angela - till the backs of his legs hit the workbench, and there's nowhere left to go. Oh, shit. Maybe it was a good thing he'd sent that emergency text, after all. He's got some idea of what Angela can do, and he very much doesn't want to be on the receiving end of any of that, thanks very much. He holds up his hands in a calming, supplicating gesture, voice high with panic. ]
Whoa whoa whoa, hey, I know, I- I'm sorry, I didn't think it was gonna be a big deal, which I can see now was a baaaaad call on my part but I promise I didn't mean any offense by it, or um, any insolence or whatever, I swear!
[ Evidently he's made some kind of gross cultural trespass, here, and blind dates (or at least tricking people into them) is maybe an actual crime where she's from? Oh, god, he really should've thought this through better. ]
I'm sorry, okay- seriously, I wouldn't've done it if I knew it was gonna upset you!
[ As much as Angela wants to throttle Cisco for his misstep, she does not sense any ill will in his confession. She seethes for a moment longer, then disengages, stepping back and allowing Cisco room to breathe. She huffs, hands clenching and releasing, full of anger with nowhere to direct it. ]
There are two things you should know about me. You had no way of knowing, and so I will forgive you this time.
First, my heart is committed to another. Secondly, [ She levels a hard glare at Cisco. ] even if I were not in a relationship, I don't... "swing that way."
[ Cisco rubs a hand over his chest, glad for the breathing room, but still cowering somewhat from the rather ferocious look on Angela's face. He can tell that, even if she's backing off, her temper hasn't cooled all that much. And, beneath the more urgent fear at her explosive anger, Cisco really is feeling fairly guilty. He'd thought the worst case scenario for his little blind date would be mild annoyance. He'd never even considered he might seriously give offense.
He understands why, though when Angela speaks. Cisco listens, mouth dropping open in surprise and then, quickly, abject horror. He covers his mouth with his hands, first, and then, his entire face. Oh, god. ]
Oh... my god.
[ It would be bad enough, if Angela was in a relationship and he didn't think to check. It would also be bad enough if she wasn't interested in men and he didn't think to check. But the fact that both are true? There's no other way to put it: ]
I am such a fucking idiot.
[ How had he not even considered...? Right at that moment, Cisco wishes pretty badly for Barry's powers. He'd very much like to run a little ways into the past and stop his past self from doing something so moronic. ]
Angela... I'm really sorry. I didn't even- I mean, I don't know what I was thinking- I just thought. You were both warriors, so...
[ Hardly an excuse, but he wants to at least explain his thought process, what it was that had made him choose Angela for this little endeavor. ]
[ Cisco drops his hands, nods quickly, swallowing, really hoping that however Angela calls in that debt isn't going to be something that gets him killed. Or worse, something that requires him to make horrible weapons, or hurt someone, or anything like that. Because if that is the case, he will have to refuse, and then he suspects things will get very ugly. Angela seems like someone who takes debts very seriously.
But he can cross that bridge when they come to it. No need to catastrophize right now and imagine the worst case scenario. Angela at least seems like she has changed her mind about maiming him for the time being, which is a relief. It doesn't mean Cisco can relax, obviously, but he at least prevents himself from tipping over the edge into outright panic. He sits down on a stool beside the workbench, visibly shaking from head to toe. ]
Your- your girlfriend, or partner or whatever, can I... I'd like to apologize to her, too. Make sure she knows it was just a fuck up, and I didn't know.

So I take it things went well?
[ A very, very weak stab at humor, there. ]

Regardless. I went on your "date." You owe me now. I will not forget.
